At home there is tremendous hype around every severe dip in temperatures, it's news, and so one knows to be ready -- it's anticlimactic, even, when the snow hits or the freeze comes. No such fanfare here, and so, it's happened several times that after an hour without gloves, I begin to think, Gosh, it's pretty cold today, and I find out later the high was something like eleven degrees F.
