Today I think we successfully secured a place for EB at a local detsky sad. I am superstitious about writing this, because the kindergartens are notoriously difficult to get into and the waiting lists very long, and I hate to jinx our chances by counting chickens, etc. Yet it seems to be a done deal. No promises were made (aloud), but while we were exchanging pleasantries and stamped forms with the headmistress, who sat at her desk, she quietly sent an email to A.'s address that said simply (in Russian of course), "Everything will be fine." So weird. But as I mentioned earlier, it seems to be a very warm and intimate school. A. asked about the cost just before we left (officially there is no tuition at state schools but that never seems to be really true), and she said simply that it will be discussed later. The teacher will decide.
